Silvia Veronesi is a lawyer of the Court of Milan, expert in family law, of the person and minors – also at international level – and in succession law.

She has taken part as a speaker at conferences, workshops, and professional training courses regarding family and children law and she has intervened in conferences dealing with issues related to individuals and family relations, organizing and coordinating many of these conferences.

She has carried out – and continues to carry out – her training, specifically on issues of juvenile law and family law, participating in multidisciplinary training and self-training meetings, also regarding the role of language in conflict reduction, recognition and management of emotions (Berne Center in Milan), collaborative practice (AIADC), as well as supervisory meetings for legal curator of the minors.

During the long experience in solving family law issues, she has also dealt with several situations with elements of internationality and “across borders” controversy, also working as an expert, appointed by one or both parties, to give a technical opinion on matters of international or internal law.

In February 2019 She took part in a training session at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg on the fundamental rights and freedoms of people.

She is Vice President of the Milan Chamber of Minors, of which she was also Secretary, and she is co-scientific director of the International Law Sector of the National Union of Juvenile Chambers (UNCM).

She is a member, from February 2023, of the board of directors of the Association ICALI, International Child Abduction lawyers in Italy, and member of the same Association.

Since 2019 to February 2021 she has been accountable of the bilateral agreements committee for the Commission for International Relations with the Council of the Bar Association of Milan, and since 2015 she is a member of this Commission.

She’s a member of the Strategic Committee of Umberto Veronesi Foundation and legal counsellor of the same institution, thanks to which she gained specific experience and expertise in the structuring and management, from a legal point of view, of fundraising and public interest projects.

Since 2017 She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Association ICALI, International Child Abduction lawyers in Italy, and member of the same Association.

Since 2016 She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Review The future of science and ethics, edited by the Ethics Committe of Veronesi Foundation, Milan; from the same year she is Co-director of this scientific journal, on which she writes.

Since 2015 She is qualified to carry out the “Collaborative Practice“, having received the professional qualification from AIADC.

She has been admitted in 2014 to practice as a lawyer before the Supreme Court.

Since 2007 to 2010 she has been lecturer, in relation to legal issues, at the professional training courses for mediators at GeA Association (that means “Still Parents”) in Milan.

In 2020 She published the volume “Parental responsibility. Parental autonomy and child protection”, and in 2008 she has edited her work “The involvement of the judge concerning the exercise of parental authority”, both published by Giuffrè. She has also collaborated with several legal journals, in the sections dedicated to family law, and since 1996 she has been author of several notes on Court’s ruling, articles and contributions on legal issues concerning family and people, on juridical review as well as on collective publications.

Graduated with honours, with a discussion of a thesis on the issue of matrimonial property rights in Great Britain, she worked for more than a decade at the law firm of the lawyer Cesare Rimini in Milan, performing, in 2002, also an internship at the law firm Withers of London, in the department of family law and civil litigation.
